Il 10 gennaio 2019 si è svolto un webinar COAR relativo al Plan S e ai Repository. La registrazione del webinar e le diapositive sono disponibili sul sito web del COAR.

Come scrive COAR: "In generale, COAR sostiene fortemente il Plan S, è lieta che i repositoryi siano inclusi come meccanismo per conformarsi al Plan S (in quanto sono importanti per garantire l'innovazione nel sistema editoriale scientifico), ma nutre alcune riserve sui requisiti funzionali specifici per gli archivi come attualmente delineato".

Il webinar è stato molto impegnato e il team di COAR sottolinea che "i partecipanti hanno fornito grandi commenti, domande interessanti e preziosi contributi alla discussione".

Soprattutto, "COAR rivedrà la sua risposta al Plan S sulla base di queste discussioni e di altri feedback comunitari e presenterà una risposta definitiva e formale entro il 1° febbraio 2019 e la pubblicherà anche sul sito web di COAR".

Si allegano qui di seguito alcuni commenti interessanti:

- "Is there any estimate what portion of the repositories would be compliant with all current requirements of Plan S right now?"

- "The timeline seems hard for many researchers to accept (perhaps correctly), do COAR agree on the short timeline i.e. 2020? Are there aspects that we should consider as problematic (even though "we" as open access advocates genereally applaud it..)?"

- "What about relaxing CC by as an objective while accepting NC or ND or both?"

- "As far as I know, the Plan S group are concerned about the PDF as bring the standard and that we aren't moving from that"

- "How could repositories concretely be supported (by the funders or others) to meet (some of) the requirements for Plan S?"
