Brief summary:

Research evaluation plays a key role in researchers' choices. Current evaluation, based primarily on outputs such as publications (and the impact factor of the journals in which they are published), is not aligned with open science criteria and risks negatively affecting the quality and integrity of research. The European Commission has launched a concrete initiative to reform evaluation criteria.
